In the Middle East they have a tradition like Groundhog Day. A man dresses up like Saddam Husein and comes out of a hole in the ground. If he sees his shadow it means that the Arab world has six more weeks of goat sex. Lucky for them the tradition happens every six weeks. But it’s not so good for the goats.

Take those away and the only thing left is a solid monolith absent any local flavor at all. Basically the dream of unfettered liberalism.
