Your personal information may have been leaked in the 'Mother of all Breaches' (MOAB), cybersecurity researchers have warned.

Over 26 billion personal records have been exposed, in what researchers believe to be the biggest-ever data leak.

Sensitive information from several sites including Twitter, Dropbox, and Linkedin was discovered on an unsecured page.

Worryingly, the researchers who found it claim this breach is extremely dangerous and could prompt a tsunami of cybercrime.

Every one of these companies has the same phone answering machine message: “We take your data security very seriously” followed immediately by “Due to heavier than usual call volume...”

I’ve gotten announcements of breaches from probably five or six companies the past month alone, the most recent two days ago. They all offer a free year of credit monitoring. A lot of good multiple credit monitors does.

That’s an all-time high list of breaches. The Adobe and LinkedIn breaches were years ago.

“MySpace still exists? :)”

Believe it or not - it does! Musician Justin Timberlake made an investment in it just a few years ago. It’s probably a tax-loss write off for him.

From what I gather, this isn’t a single new massive data breach. They found another server that aggregated all the previous individual breaches into one convenient place for crooks to do their “shopping.”

I worry most about Social Security Numbers. I refuse to share mine anywhere, but it’s a must for health care providers, lending companies, and DMV sites.

From the article: "Your personal information may have been leaked grabbed by the Feds which happens all the time but may have been witnessed by a contractor who hasn't signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement."

Don’t use the website in the article - this is obvious click bait advertising.

Use the original and still independently owned site -

Um...I'd be real careful about using the "checker" form and entering your email, or phone number. Why should we trust "cybernews.com"??

Most decent credit check apps will tell you if your info has been compromised, CapitalOne has a free service.

MyFitnessPal is on my phone. I don’t have any sensitive information stored there, AFAIK.

It is fairly simple to do a credit freeze with the 3 big credit reporting agencies these days. If you need credit, ask the loaner which credit agency you need to unlock for a brief period. That said, Equifax got hacked back in 2017...
