That's The People's Republik of California for ya.
We know of several Californians who left over the past 5+ years and bought actual mansions in the southeast US with their profits from selling their houses in CA.
In 2010, we sold our 2,800 sq. ft. track house in Simi Valley for $650K. Came to TN and bought a 5,000 sq. ft. house on 2.5 acres on a river for $350K. (Per Zillow, that CA house now has a figure of over $1 Million.)
Except for the weather, CA has no positive qualities that I can think of.
