Yeah, that’s their latest tactic to try and shut down threads and silence pro-Ukraine posters and commenters, by crying “wolf” and invoking admin and the site owner. Pretty cowardly.

What New Hampshire doink?

They’re taking Krynky really, really hard...

Exactly right. For two years they have pumped out propaganda and now reality can't be denied. And it's a hard, hard fall for these Zeepers.

Deflect, divert, ridicule… [yawn]

Yep. That's your game, "Apparatchik." Lolol!

I think the next time you choose a screen name choose something less self-demeaning like "Politburo" or "Supreme Soviet" or "Red Dawn" or "Hunt For Red October" They're more suited to someone with a passé Cold War mentality. But on second thought, so is "Apparatchik."

So how about this one instead?: "Zelenskkkyyy Cosplayer."

Slovakian PM Fico: Will Veto Ukrainian NATO Membership Bid, No More Military Aid to Kiev – Supports Hungary’s Orbán Against EU Pressure

The new Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico, has publicly confirmed what he had been saying since his campaign: he will not follow the previous government’s policies towards Ukraine.

In fact, Fico has now vowed to thwart Kiev’s plans in a number of ways, from vetoing their NATO membership, to stopping all military aid, up until joining Hungary’s blockage of EU’s €50 billion package.

‘I know what I’m going with (to the meeting with the Ukrainian prime minister), I’m going with humanitarian aid, we’ll confirm that they will not receive any weapons from the Slovak army and from state warehouses, I’ll say that there are things on which our views are completely different. […] I will say that I am against Ukraine’s membership in NATO, that I will use the right of veto and block it because this will be the foundation of the Third World War’ – Fico said on Saturday.”

I have the movie.

They don’t make them like that anymore.

I do not know Russian society, but even Hitler worked very hard to keep the wives of soldiers pacified. Albert Speer, in his autobiography, wrote extensively about the efforts made to ensure that German women did not speak against the war effort.

I remember this poem from “The World At War”:

Wait For Me - Konstantin Simonov

Wait for me, and I’ll come back!
Wait with all you’ve got!
Wait, when dreary yellow rains
Tell you, you should not.

Wait when snow is falling fast,
Wait when summer’s hot,
Wait when yesterdays are past,
Others are forgot.

Wait, when from that far-off place,
Letters don’t arrive.
Wait, when those with whom you wait
Doubt if I’m alive.

Wait for me, and I’ll come back!
Wait in patience yet
When they tell you off by heart
That you should forget.

Even when my dearest ones
Say that I am lost,
Even when my friends give up,
Sit and count the cost,
Drink a glass of bitter wine
To the fallen friend -
Wait! And do not drink with them!
Wait until the end!

Wait for me and I’ll come back,
Dodging every fate!
“What a bit of luck!” they’ll say,
Those that did not wait.
They will never understand
How amidst the strife,
By your waiting for me, dear,
You had saved my life.
How I made it, we shall know,
Only you and I.
You alone knew how to wait -
We alone know why!

Ukraine Seeks PR "Wins" as West Admits War May be Lost

Update on the conflict in Ukraine for January 21, 2024…

- As Ukraine and its Western sponsors continue losing the conflict strategically, Ukraine continues conducting military operations to win public relations victories;

- Ukrainian drone strikes on St. Petersburg and a Russian oil depot inflicted no tactically or strategically significant damage;

- Such strikes have demonstratably only galvanized the Russian population further behind Moscow and are admittedly aimed at encouraging the Ukrainian population to remain invested in the conflict;

- The US government has claimed that without further financial aid, Ukraine will decisively lose the conflict, omitting the fact that even with additional financial resources, the arms and ammunition Ukraine needs does not exist to be purchased and transferred to Ukraine in the first place;

- France has urged arms manufacturers to boost output, claiming to have switched to a “war economy mode,” despite the necessary prerequisites to do so not being met and France being unable to boost output without huge investments in both money measured in billions, and time measured in years;

- The fate of a Russian A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft continues to remain at the center of Western commentary, specifically because of a lack of strategically significant developments in Ukraine’s favor on the battlefield. The fact that Western media admits the allegedly destroyed plane has already been replaced reveals how insignificant the incident is;

- The Western media continues promoting narratives of heavy Russian losses around Avdeevka, identical to narratives that preceded the fall of Bakhmut to Russian forces last year;

- While such narratives are meant to depict Russia as weak and failing, the relentless tidal wave of men and equipment would not be possible unless Russia possessed vastly superior means of raising manpower and military industrial output;

The last figure I saw was close to 375,000 lost Russians. That is closer to 23 times the 10 year Afghan losses, and in fewer than 2 years. At the rate they are being lost, around 800 a day, they should reach 400,000 by Feb. 24.

Oh yes they will - one way or another. It’s up to Putin.

Few bodies are returning to Russia. The overwhelming number of casualties have been either left as carrion on the battlefield, of these some may get buried eventually by the Ukies, but others are being incinerated in Putin's mobile crematoriums. No bodies returning home, means no death benefits in Putin's clever Russian state. There will be many "mail order brides" from the region soon. Men should be careful of the scammers.

The cost of the war, and politics surrounding Biden's corruption in Ukraine, affects people's judgment with good reason. Most lack the historical perspective of the region. Zbigniew Brzezinski said that without Ukraine, Russia ceases to be an empire. Removing Russian influence from Ukraine could well have a domino affect in Belarus, and the Russian occupation of parts of Georgia. As bloody and unpleasant as the war is, if the Ukies want to keep fighting, it's probably best to keep supporting them. We can send them old weapons systems, and as long as those are better than the old Soviet junk the Ruskies have, it could be enough to attrit Putin's forces.
