“it’s been mighty frigid down here in TN this week”
Yup. We’ve been snowed in now for almost a week. The county Highway Dept. has not even attempted to clear roads. (Our taxes will be paid grudgingly.) No mail or deliveries of any kind. No tire tracks. Impossible to get meds, pet food, etc.
My brother lives in a neighboring country and said that last week when the snow came, the head of that highway department ... sent the workers home. (I could be wrong, but I THINK that is when they’re supposed to work extra hard.)
I’ve been in since Monday too. They don’t clear anything but the highways here. But stockpile to a degree and have plenty of food for myself and the cats so that’s not a problem. I did get a little extra cat litter and some milk to get through til Monday because I knew I wasn’t going anywhere once the snow arrived.
The worst part was missing out on a couple of things I was looking forward to this week. A meeting Thursday and right now I should be at the military museum with a couple of large groups that had scheduled tours. I was reeeeeeally looking forward to that. The two groups are disappointed, too, but they’ll reschedule.
At least there’s another group scheduled for next Saturday to look forward to and the weather will be better.
Just gotta get through these next two days and FREEDOM! LOL
