“After all... God planted a tree filled with apples he had forbidden Adam and Eve to eat... But secretly he may have wanted them to eat those apples anyway. That way it would have proved he managed to create human beings able to act autonomously according to free will. Thus, a successful experiment!”

Well it’s a philosophical debate. I’m not into absolute Theologie. The goal is to produce food for thought.
No, but all things work according to his plan, whether it be his intended plan, or his allowed plan- both work to serve his intentions f9r this world. Nothing takes him by surprise- and everything that happens happens in order that God’s plan for the world comes to fruition regardless of whether or not man chooses God’s ultimate desired will or his allowed will.
It certainly wasn’t Israel’s desire to,be held captive by Egypt for so long, or to wander in the desert for 40 years because of disobedience, but God allowed it to happen anyways, knowing how it would affect the chosen people in the end, some of which is still unfolding.
God has 2 wills- his ultimate will for our lives, and his allowed will. The ultimate will of his was that everyone obey of their own accord, and walk in a close relationship with him, but his allowed will, for the purpose of “free will” was to allow man to choose wrongly, and to sever the relationship, the restore the relationship through the sacrifice of his son. I’m fairly confident that he woulda preferred the first scenario, but allowed the second in order that man could taste of the fruits of free will, to find out on their own that a c,one relationship with him is much much preferred to the bad choice they/Adam and eve made.
post 57 has it right I believe.
Does ANYTHING happen that God does not permit?
Agreed. He knows, plans for those failures, plans how best to use them to teach us valuable ,essons we couldn’t learn any other way perhaps
“Days after he took the gavel, Faithful America, an online Christian group that supports social justice causes, warned that Johnson could be the “most dangerous Christian nationalist leader” in the U.S. government.’
So we can learn a valuable formula from the left wing bigots. They are ashamed to just criticize “Christians” as dangerous (at least so far), so they have to criticize “Christian Nationalists” adding the term made famous by National Socialists aka Nazis. So from now on I am going to call KJP and Barack Obama and Big Fani and Brandon Johnson “Black Nationalists” and say they are threats to our Democracy. You can’t criticize Blacks as a group, that would be racist, but just add the word “nationalist” and it becomes perfectly OK to criticize Blacks as a group. There is nothing “Nationalist” about Mike Johnson, he is just Speaker of the House, nothing in his background suggests he is any more Nationalist than any other member of the House, Senate, etc. But he is a Christian. Black Nationalists are clearly a threat IMHO.
Not for a second did I ever trust Johnson.
The fella at this site has some very unique insight into topics of theology- he has tackled many of the hard subjects and questions and accusations by the unsaved- it’s a good site to bookmark for reference. He comes to the same conclusion that you do- about God’s “allowed will”, and the reasons for it

I see it a different way. I see it that we had to have somebody like Biden to show people how bad liberal Dems are and what they have planned for us. President Trump showed people how good it could be. Biden is the contrast to that.
Good point!!
God’s Will birthed a nation of 13 colonies, that grew to 50 states..
Christ began with Him and His 12, and the New Covenant Church grew at 50.
Does Mike see the parallel between the modern Church and America and God’s Will to show both as corrupt?
People will leap to intently misunderstand Johnson, including many here.
The God of Israel is always going somewhere with his sovereign will. Even wicked rulers fit into His larger plan.
God had to reveal the corruption of the election.
I get that a whole spectrum from godless journos to godless freepers don’t get what he’s saying and no amount of bible study is going to fix that, HOWEVER...
It is incumbent on the person asserting this that they mention Job12 or Romans13 or cite other passages or even a sermon by someone as well known as David Jeremiah to show the Bible as the authority on this subject.
As you can see in this thread and the link, unknowledgeable people think Mike Johnson came up with this idea in some private interpretation or epiphany.
The stupid... the stupid... is all over the place.
Well, God and Dominion voting machines and mail in ballots. š
“Biblical nonsense”. I beleive God CAN raise up leaders, but I also believe that Satan/Lucifer is always in competition for that role and history and the world now demonstrates leaders that Satan/Lucifer successfully promoted. That contest will continue and intensify as the end times draws nearer to the end time. We know from the Book of Revelation that at the very end most of the world will be enthralled by rulers as anti-God as any have ever been.
Thank you very much.
The www.christianthinktank.com is a massive treasure trove of interesting information!
.
Precisely!
Iād venture not a single one of the stupid stories Joe claims his Mother and Father originated is true. Dude is a Fraud.
It is God’s will. God raises up kings and takes them down. Not all kings that are raised up will be God-fearing. Sometimes He uses the kings He raises up to punish a people.
This!
