Rental car companies at Oakland International Airport have an important message for anyone returning a car: If you’re going to gas up before dropping your car, watch your belongings when doing so. And, better yet, don’t stop at one of the stations near the airport’s entrance.

five to seven customers a day who come in with window-smashed rentals...
Airport car rental agencies are telling customers not to stop for gas. Nice way to charge $6/gallon for vehicles returned less than full tank.

Perhaps the rental car companies can also rent Mossberg 500s?

No, they are encouraged to not engage in racial targeting.

I used to work nearby. A former co-worker of mine had his car window smashed and his laptop stolen on two separate occasions while ordering takeout at a sub shop across the road from Shell.
I’m like, Dude? Twice? Really?

Well the cops must be told to stand down, plus they must be getting thir 10% cut.

People should think about the bad guys watching parking lots of establishments that forbid concealed carry.

I guess it’s okay in California to steal from a car if it’s unlocked. From the article:
“In California, visitors are at a disadvantage when attempting to prosecute people for auto burglaries. To secure a conviction, state law currently requires people to prove in court their door was locked.”

Yeah, apparently so. Unintended consequences from an overly-simplistic law?
