Iran’s Revolutionary Guard deployed in Yemen

Commanders and advisors from Iran’s elite Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps are on the ground in Yemen and playing a direct role in Houthi rebel attacks on commercial traffic in the Red Sea.

The IRGC has stationed missile and drone trainers and operators in Yemen, as well as personnel providing tactical intelligence support to the Houthis, U.S. and Middle East officials told Semafor. The IRGC, through its overseas Qods Force, has also overseen the transfer to the Houthis of the attack drones, cruise missiles, and medium-range ballistic missiles used in a string of strikes on Red Sea and Israeli targets in recent weeks, these officials said.

The Houthis say that its military operations are designed to aid the Palestinian militant group, Hamas, which has been locked in a three-month war with Israel. On Monday, the Pentagon said the Houthis struck a U.S.-owned and -operated container vessel, the M/V Gibraltar Eagle, in the Red Sea, but caused no significant damage. The Houthis fired a second anti-ship ballistic missile into the southern Red Sea, the U.S. Central Command said, but it “failed in flight and impacted on land in Yemen.”

Maybe even more have deployed, but Iran has had personnel in Yemen for years.

Will the cowardly Iranians soon blame the Youthis for Iranian sinking a UK or US ship and killing all on board? Iran should become the wasteland it deserves. All were warned to keep the international sea lanes open to all.

If the M-TV watching rebellious youths in Iran want to overthrow their stiff necked theocratic rulers then do it. If not, goodbye with the rest of the evil regime.

Instead of invading Iraq, we should have gone into Iran;
- deposed the Islamic revolutionary leaders and bureaucracy;
- destroyed any infrastructure they had to promote terror or wage war;
- destroyed their nuclear program;
- destroyed/disbanded the Revolutionary Guard;
- made them pay for it all by taking it from their oil revenue;
- made them pay for the helicopters we lost in the desert during the Carter administration;
- made them pay reparations to the hostages they took;
and
- Put into place a surrender treaty that precluded them from having a nuclear program, precluded them from having teaching hate and genocide, precluded them from oppressing people of other religions (including Christians), and put into place a monetary fund that would take money from Iran automatically and use it to compensate any victims of Islamic terrorism around the globe.

Trump was good to the Iranians but they, of course, are not good to the US in return.

Foreign Policy article June, 2019:
The U.S. and Iranian governments moved to de-escalate tensions on Friday after the two nations reached the brink of war, with President Donald Trump confirming that U.S. forces were “cocked & loaded” to retaliate against Tehran’s downing of a U.S. military drone.

Trump called off the planned attacks on three separate sites in Iran just 10 minutes before go time, after learning that the strikes would kill 150 people, the president said in a tweet Friday morning.

“Not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone,” Trump wrote. “I am in no hurry.”
