He had enormous power over the giving of grants and ability of scientists to advance their career.

Given his record, ‘twould appear that Science and fauci (capitols or lack thereof intended) are not friends.
Fauci has considered himself as a god for years and years and years. He is very mistaken.
I am a scientist and it pains me to say it, but “science” in the US has become a religion - an absolute matter of faith in man.
However, what we have is NOT true science because skepticism is not allowed and truth is derived from those who proclaim themselves to be its high priests - much as Fauci did when he said “I am science”.

Skepticism is a part of science as all results should be falsifiable.
Problem is the skepticism that most people were relying on was coming from podcast hosts, sports figures and bloggers.
It wasn’t science….it was politics.
Rather, deceptive elements PRETEND to cite "science" as the basis for their agenda, when in fact, actual Science has God as its author, and therefore, is never in error.
Yes. The COVID pandemic debacle has had little to do with "putting science before God" but a lot to do with putting money before everything else.
Many such cases. And they're not all "liberals" and they're not all Dems, either.

Just as an anecdote:
Actually there are times when science has gone so far that it just has to acknoledge the existence of God. Science can make people accept God’s existence. It’s interesting.

Yup! Makes you wonder which stable genius playing 12D chess went along and handed out federal cash to help enable long lockdowns and finance the election fraud; then criticized the Governors that opened their states early?
My good friend has a son who is a PhD scientist of some kind. Neither he nor any of his PhD buddies at work got the shot. Told my friend all the hype was about selling vaccines.
Hindsight has shown many of the skeptics to be right.
Never again.
It was vaccine or bust and they even held up the vaccine until after the election.
Never let a crisis go to waste.
And they didn’t.
