‘Urban Hellscape’: Seneca Scott Breaks Down How Elites in America Are Systematically Destroying Cities
Epoch TimesTV ^ | 1/13/23 | American Thought Leaders

Posted on 01/14/2024 9:25:34 AM PST by CFW

“They want systemic lawlessness. They want high retail theft,“ says Seneca Scott, founder of Neighbors Together Oakland. It’s ”managed decline from eviction moratoriums, managed decline from defunding police, managed decline from $950 you can steal from stores, not being able to catch people.”

“Mega billionaires are giving money to defend the police movements. The same individuals are the largest investors in AI autonomous security,” Mr. Scott said. He has been documenting how Oakland, California became, as he describes it, an “urban hellscape.”

Once a progressive Democrat and labor organizer who represented thousands of union workers in California, he says woke ideology took over the labor movement and it stopped representing the actual needs of workers. “That’s when I saw that we were being used by the mega-billionaire class as very useful idiots for a very nefarious agenda of control,” Mr. Scott said. He argues the elites are pitting the upper middle class against the lower class and promoting class warfare.

Now, Mr. Scott sees himself as a “post-partisan solutionary.”

Scott is “woke ideology” that voted for the mess that he created but now blames others.

At about 23 minutes in, he talks about the WEF, the implementation of “woke” polices in education being destructive, ranked-choice voting destroying the voters choice, etc. He speaks of “root causes” as being code words by the government to excuse their failures. Mr. Scott is slowly coming around to the failures of the progressive left.

It’s just the distribution of free stuff to their voters that they don’t have to pay for. What’s for a Marxist NOT to like?

Everyday people have seen and understood for many years, if not decades, what is happening to our cities and who is responsible.

Politicians, the government, media and other Rocket Scientists and Experts are just catching on?

Hard to believe since they are the ones doing the destroying.

Seventy Five years ago Detroit was America's fourth largest city, prosperous, dynamic and the center of automobile manufacturing for the world.

Now it is twenty ninth and still shrinking.

Politicians and the government are responsible for this decline, not Working Americans.

"In 1950, the United States accounted for more than 80% of global car production, excluding commercial vehicle production.
However, this share declined to about 4.6% in 2010 and 2.7% in 2021, reflecting a loss of competitiveness in the American car manufacturing system."

I will explain exactly what is happening.

The vast majority of property in the “city” is owned by people who don’t actually live in the city and thus can not vote in that cities election

A landlord that lives in the suburbs and owns 30 properties in the city, gets ZERO votes in city elections. And nearly all commercial property is owned by people that again live outside of the city itself.

This distorts the electorate to favor the homeless, renters and those in jail. All of which actually live in the city and are thus the only ones allowed to vote.

This is a complete perversion of our system which originally ONLY allowed property owners to vote. Now.. they are the least likely to vote even though they might own the majority of the properties.

The theory of elites destroying society doesn’t make sense to me in any way shape or form.

It does not have to "make sense". It is simply an observable fact. The observations are repeatable too. That calls for a testable theory to explain it. How scientific is that?

TLDR? How about "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts, absolutely".

Wealthy people can afford to make stupid mistakes and never learn from them. They can also be quite abusive with nobody around them who will dare correct their behavior. Those activities get worse with continued repetition. It is a problem as old as human civilization.

Jump forward a generation or two and you can get some very deranged and self-destructive people in the "elites". Check out Hunter Biden for example. Better not put him in charge of anything important. He will hurt a lot of people if you do that. He will enjoy hurting a lot of people, just as he was hurt in his upbringing, and he won't stop. This cannot be fixed.

There are also structural incentives in the power system to limit or destroy the upper middle class that arises in a prosperous civilization. That is the source of all the serious competitors who might replace the current elites. The most important goal of those in power is to remain in power. Forever.

The most stable power system for elites is a feudal arrangement with an impoverished peasantry that is completely dependent on the favor of the elites to survive, and a hereditary aristocracy with unlimited power over those peasants. It is the goal to which they always strive.

Of course, those societies tend to get knocked over by hostile neighbors who run things a bit differently. And the industrial revolution, capitalism, and the current high-technology system have badly disrupted feudal organization. So much for the elites. But maybe "this time it will be different" (no, it won't).

The elites do not get what they truly want (unlimited power) from the current systems. Of course, they want to destroy those systems. They don't really need cities anymore except as their personal playgrounds or whorehouses. They can live in guarded estates and abandon cities to the ferals. That is what they are doing now.

These appalling stereotypes do not apply to all of the elites, or even most of them. But it only takes 10% to 20% of that population to dominate events. The psychopaths and sociopaths in the elite classes are strongly motivated to dominate events. Their personal survival depends upon it.

Cities are still useful to the sociopath elites as a source for ferals and other criminals that can be used to terrorize and suppress the middle classes. Elites believe they can control criminal forces and restrict them to approved targets. They are wrong in that belief.

These theories have implications and testable predictions. Check them out. If they fall short, come up with a revised theory.

They want so much chaos, that “ Big Brother” becomes a good guy that restores and maintains civil order for a grateful, submissively passive society.

Eventually Big Brother even controls what lightbulbs you can buy “for the good of everyone”

Oh…wait

It is a grift wrapped in a series of grifts.

Trillion$ were stripped from “middle-class” taxpayers during the orchestrated pandemic then pocketed by the corporate billionaires.

They purposely destroy the cities to lower property values through crime and government mismanagement. They then grift more money from taxpayers to create “Opportunity Zones” for the perpetual victim class. Those zones come with extremely favorable tax advantages. The zones never stay in the hands of the “victim class” for long. Case in point, Trump created Opportunity Zones in Democrat run cities. George Floyd riots orchestrated to burn and loot those zones. Victim owners do not have the assets to recover and sell off properties at fire sale prices to the corporate billionaires. Corporate billionaires now own prime city properties on the cheap and shelter their billions in the newly created tax havens. Go look up the maps of the riots and the rioting magically stopped at the edge of the Opportunity Zones. Then look up the names of those who acquired those properties. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Hate to nitpick but that is definitely not Detroit in 1945.

There are some evil billionaires. But I’m not about to label them evil as a class. That’s just jealousy of success by others.

Bad things are being done, by a small minority of the world’s richest people. The wild parts of the theory come from individuals who need an excuse for their personal failures.

My first thought as well. Makes no sense to destroy your objective.

“Right, because while they’re busy destroying America there’s also building bunkers in far away places in case of “The Event”!“

Each nuclear armed western country should reserve a few warheads for those far away bunkers. That could lead to the elites deciding not to start the war in the first place.

“Right, because while they’re busy destroying America there’s also building bunkers in faraway places in case of “The Event”!

Those bunkers will make great homes for the security staff after they dispose of the former owners. After three or four cycles of that the properties are likely to be a little run down.

There won't be any supplies or people to fix them up again.

The wild parts of the theory come from individuals who need an excuse for their personal failures.

Evil people use minions who need an excuse for their personal failures. The Evil ones then encourage the minions to envy and to commit theft from specified targets. And to do worse things. The minions do them voluntarily. The masters sit back laughing and never get their hands dirty.

Evil scales at every economic level. It is not the "billionaire class" that is the source of this problem. But the sociopaths among them have more minions and can do more damage.

Hitler, Stalin, and Mao never killed anybody. Their public servants did the killing.
