My grandpa did the whole Statue of Liberty thing. Except he actually followed the rules. He sailed into NY past the Statue, was checked for health at Ellis Island, provided the Immigration Officers with the name and address of a relative who guaranteed that he would not become a public charge. He was provided with money, food, transportation, or shelter by the government once he left Ellis Island.

Not quite the same thing, is it Mayor Johnston.

Correction: He was not provided with money, food, transportation, or shelter by the government once he left Ellis Island.
