Perhaps we need a new law - no public land, site, road, town, building, statute etc. can be renamed without first submitting it to a vote of the people and the vote must be at least 50% of eligible voters, and to be sure a second vote would be required ten years after the first vote.

Too often historical names and events are changed by a very small minority often against the wishes of the majority of the people. This would slow it down a little.

All public land facing a name change should be sold at auction to Americans only, with the new owner required to change the name. Stop spending public money on catering to insane people who should be checked for other symptoms of mental illness before they shoot up a school or fly an airplane into a building.
