Bridget Brink, US Ambassador to Ukraine, has said that the United States seeks to sign a security agreement with Ukraine, commenting on the news that such an agreement has been signed with the UK.
Details: Ambassador Brink stressed that reaching such an agreement is an objective that the US president has set. "As President Biden has said, we are committed to helping Ukraine defend itself and deter future aggression."
Quote: "We have already started bilateral consultations with your government, with the office of the president, with government agencies, and we are discussing with them what the security commitments on our part could be. So far, there have been two rounds, and the talks will continue: the Biden administration seeks this agreement."
With negotiations ongoing, Brink did not disclose the general structure or potential content of the future agreement. She did, however, emphasise that the US supports NATO membership for Ukraine, and that the security agreement serves as a "bridge to ensure security" until that happens.

Are they not smart enough to know they will never be joined to NATO?
Looks like the USA, UK (and maybe Poland?) will engineer a searate agreement in order to enter this war.
A couple more rounds of talks ought to do it.....
“Are they not smart enough to know they will never be joined to NATO?”
Guess not. Seems Putin was/is stupid too.
There won’t be any Ukraine with a US security guarantee.
It’s worth less than nothing. The sooner this iteration of Ukraine is gone, the better.
More proper name for the ambassador would be Budget Brink.
