My understanding is that the trades have become so valuable and have such high demand, that you can easily earn 6 figures at a lot of them.
The idea that everyone needs to have a college degree and should earn lots of money from it does a real disservice toa whole lot of people.
Back in the 80s a cousin of mine got out of the military and used the GI bill to get through college.
After earning his degree he sought gainful employment as a college grad and never found a carrer path that fit his college major.
Dissatisfied and disappointed, he went to truck driving school and earned a very comfortable living while more or less making his own hours. Second best decision he ever made he says.
That was my first clue that trades were an absolutely acceptable carrer path and also the second best decision I ever made.
