I looked up Saint Clare to see if she was the patron saint for anything. This is what I found on Wikipedia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clare_of_Assisi

Pope Pius XII designated Clare as the patron saint of television in 1958 on the basis that when she was too ill to attend Mass, she had reportedly been able to see and hear it on the wall of her room

Clare was a contemporary of Saint Francis of Assisi, so she came and went a few years before TV was a thing.

Wow. Who the hell wrote that Wikipedia bio? There is a Poor Clare’s Monastery
in my area. It’s been here a long time.

There is a movie about St. Francis of Assisi, with Bradford Dillman in the title role. I can’t remember who portrayed Clare.

It was Dolores Hart.

She actually left Hollywood, and became a nun in real life.
