The only unbiased report I’ve seen/heard on this was on the radio yesterday and I’m not interested in obsessing on propaganda until the ‘smoke’ clears.

It could be a soiled mattress that was in storage. More likely the stain is neither feces not blood, but Cholent, a Sabbath Stew. During festivals there are pilgrims who stay over in the basements and end up eating there. Accidents happen in close quarters. The mattress was an adult "twin" sized mattress.
As for high chairs, there is a children's prayer facility whose basement was burrowed into. Why wouldn't there be high chairs?
