Syria is today ruled by its Alawite minority, less than 10% of the population. Alawites are a despised minority not considered Muslim and viewed as apostates from Islam to be killed on sight, and even bigger enemies of Islam than pagans, Jews or Christians.

How did Alawites end up in charge? Alawites joined the Syrian military in lopsidedly large numbers. There’s a lesson in there. If a dictatorship is coming, the side with the bigger guns will prevail.

Good for the Alawites, as they are FAR LESS RADICAL than the Neocon-funded TERRORISTS that they are forced to fight.
