Over 260 Jewish Hollywood artists have sent the Academy Awards a letter claiming that they are being excluded from its diversity standards.
The letter, which states the exclusion is 'discriminatory,' was created by the Jew in the City's Hollywood Bureau for Jewish Representation and was sent to the Academy yesterday.
It has been signed by actors including David Schwimmer, Debra Messing, Ginnifer Goodwin, Mayim Bialik and Josh Gad; comedians, writers and producers.
In 2020, notably after George Floyd's death, the Academy issued a set of 'standards' as part of its diversity initiative.
These standards recognized commonly 'underrepresented' identities, including women, the LGBTQ, an underrepresented racial or ethnic group, or those with cognitive or physical disabilities.
Some of the racial groups include Asian, Hispanic/Latinx, Black/African American, Indigenous/Native American/Alaskan Native, Middle Eastern/North African and Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Religions are not included in the standards.
As of this year, movies will only be nominated in the Oscars' Best Picture category if one of the lead actors or a significant supporting actor is from one of the underrepresented racial or ethnic groups in the Academy's list.
The letter starts by stating: 'While we applaud the Academy's efforts to increase diverse and authentic storytelling, an inclusion effort that excludes Jews is both steeped in and misunderstands antisemitism.
'It erases Jewish peoplehood and perpetuates myths of Jewish whiteness, power, and that racism against Jews is not a major issue or that it’s a thing of the past.
'Systemic racism against Jews in the United States included segregation, redlining, quotas, and gatekeeping, and was the motivation for the founders of Hollywood to start an industry where antisemitism wouldn't harm them.'
The letter highlights that Jewish people are an ethnic group and not just a religion.

“They” are obviously the Jewish Hollywood types discussed in the main article here. “Part of the people who are trying to destroy my country” means to me “part of a larger, similar group, which can realistically only be Jews. I can’t take that phrase, as written, any other way…but, of course, we are all guilty of writing things that mean one thing to ourselves and something quite different to others. I can certainly accept your explanation, and withdraw my accusation. But please try to be more careful in phrasing this kind of thing going forward - after October 7, I have less than zero tolerance for what I perceive as antisemitism., especially since one of my nephews is a refugee in his country due to Nazi Hezbollah rocket fire, and another is in Gaza fighting the Nazi Hamassholes.
As for you being Jewish and believing in a man being divine…let’s just say that while I respect your right to believe as you choose, and to pray as you choose, we have some theological differences. Someone believing differently from me is fine - believe me, it is not a new experience - just so long as they leave me and make me alone to believe as we do (and I am sure that you do). Peace.

I know that there are non-white Jews but EVERY Jew I have known personally or worked with HAS been white. And I live in the Baltimore metropolitan area where Jews are definitely not underrepresented. The fact that all the Jews I am acquainted with or work with are white is NOT A MYTH.
Sorry guys but being considered white because you are white is just something you’ll have to live with.
The United States is a constitutional, representative republic.
These people do not recognize or accept this fact. Instead they institute the very SUBJECTIVE identification and treatment of people. The very thing which leads to discrimination and mistreatment. They are supporting subjective treatment of others rather than respecting other people’s right of representation -which basically allows the market to decide.

Many if not most Jews are now secular. Ergo, it may not be a "race" per se, but it is a bloodline and heritage.
You are correct, but there is also an ethnicity component.

The Academy Awards were ostensibly created to recognize and reward excellence. Of course the results are debatable. But when they become the diversity awards they are truly finished.
They didn’t want to be descriminated against like “regular” white people.
Surprise! Jews are regarded as “privileged whites” in the new Woke hierarchy.

The Oscars used to be entertaining, featuring clips and songs from stuff I might want to watch.
They lost sight of what the show was supposed to be:a promo for films that people might not have watched, but may develop interest in.
Looks like the only ones who can’t benefit from affirmative action will be White Gentiles - who founded the country and made it the greatest country on earth until recently.
There was a local Jewish magazine in L.A. some 20 years ago called Tribe. A free, advertiser supported publication printed on glossy paper. I think the internet killed it, like many print publications.
