Taking care of a loved one is not a burden. You have a lot of living to do. Don’t worry about dying. Live. (I saw your eastfork name and wanted to razz you a bit)
In all honesty, my mom had enough money for us to hire in home care. I didnt have to wipe or change her. I was fortunate to just love her. Plus my greedy sibling were drooling for her money.
Not worried about dying, when it happens I hope it comes quick. My late wifes illness kept her almost an invalid a year the last year of her life, most if it intubated. Then she signed a DNR and came home for a day. When the hospice nurse came that morning she attended her and one of her medications was liquid morphine. I am convinced my late wife convinced her to give her more than she was prescribed. She was dead about an hour after the nurse left. She was at peace and ready to go and I have no hard feelings about it.That was 14 years ago.
