I write software for a living. Programs aren't divine oracles of truth; they do what their designers intended _if_ they're coded perfectly. Otherwise, they do what the code says to do.

Putting "AI" in the name doesn't change that.

BTW, I did my master's with a concentration in AI, particularly involved with image processing and scene analysis.
