An hour long timer? Aren’t kitchen timers a little bit longer than that to allow for going turkeys, etc?
Digital timers have multiple different abilities, the ‘bomb’ probably was a the standard kitchen windup manual timer. Those are a hour, and look exactly what you would expect in a cartoon bomb. They also have the ticking.
