If you’re referring to CD-5 (Lamborn’s district) I don’t doubt that it’s trending to the left — though not all that quickly — and I also don’t doubt that Democrats THINK they have a decent chance there. Nor is there any doubt that the Colorado Springs area is being heavily invaded by undesirables.

But the district *IS* still R+9 at this moment, Republican voters *DO* still outnumber Democrats by a sizable margin — although “independents” outnumber them both, which is very, very common in Colorado.

If the Republicans start losing R+9 districts and ones where they have substantial registration advantages, then we are in serious trouble. But in 2024, in this district, that’s almost certainly not the case. By 2028.... then maybe.
