Public figure defamation suits are very hard to bring. There are numerous thresholds to exceed, not the least of which is proving that the offending party had anything to gain.
But . . . this talk show guy probably has a legal team on staff, paid salary, and would cost him nothing to bring action. Aaron, will have to pay his own defense.
The nature of legal costs is such that just being accused of something generates a reduction in assets — which we might as well call a fine.
