Just because someone demands we send them money, that doesn’t mean it is a “betrayal”.

We have plenty of stains on our national conscience ranging from the Yalta Agreement, Operation Keelhaul, the disgusting betrayal of Draza Mihailovic, in Yugoslavia, the craven betrayal of South Vietnam when we let the Communists take over after signing the Paris Peace Accord, the Shah of Iran, and on and on.

This is no betrayal, no matter what Ukrainians think. We had NO business being involved there, and we sure as hell shouldn’t have been borrowing money we don’t have, against our great grandchildren and sending it to them.

We have plenty to be ashamed of in our history, but this crap is not one of those things.

I agree with most of your post, however, I think we committed a lot of (borrowed) sovereign treasure and likely many more promises to Ukraine. Everyone said Ukraine would surely be the victor and flew Ukrainian flags everywhere in support of what the administration stated. For months every politician pledged to stand by Ukraine and send yet more billions. This is a disgrace. This administration deliberately scuttled any possible peace discussion or negotiations because they wanted Ukraine to fight to their man, as if 500,000 were not enough.
