A 10-year-old boy took a stolen gun from his father’s car and then shot and killed another 10-year-old boy with it in the Foothill Farms area of Sacramento County, the sheriff’s office said.

Very sad story. It seems that the acorn didn’t fall to far from the tree
Folks, you cannot do CPR without stopping the bleed and expect a favorable outcome.
Not certain this is what the officers did, but I’ve seen this quite a bit. Doing CPR with a serious bleed is like running the pump with a broken pipe. You are going to drain the tank.
STOP THE BLEEDING, Start the breathing, protect the wound, treat for shock. There is no other order if you want to win.
Indeed.
That should be common sense.
I’ve had more than one conversation with modern-day EMTs about that very subject. I have more than a little experience in the area and am not afraid to chime in.
If only California had reasonable, commonsense, modest gun control laws, this wouldn’t have happened.
Also from the article:
“(Sheriff) Cooper cited a statistic that most homicides in Sacramento County that involve a firearm are committed by people who are not legally allowed to have a gun.”
So, is the father in more legal trouble for being in possession of stolen weapon, not legally being allowed to have possession of any firearm, or allowing a minor child access to a firearm? In any case dad is likely to face more legal consequences than the 10-year-old kid wh did the shooting.
Tragic. Little boy had a good home and a mom who loved him, so sorry he died.
Agreed.....And I’ve done CPR too many times to count.
The take away for gun thieves is to always include stealing the gun locker with the gun
I am sure this sort of thing happened a lot in the wild west but people are teaching their kids that violence and killing are the answers to disagreements.
“ That should be common sense.”
Sadly, it isn’t.
Well Yes...
My CPR Class didn’t cover That.
Sad but realize what this story revels. Stolen gun, dad had it, 10yo playing with it unsupervised.
How true! More gun laws needed.

So what new scheme and dream will they come up with..
Ha, ha, ha. That is either sarcasm or you are a loon.
If the former, a :) would have been the clue.
:)
That post is dripping with sarcasm.
That is a very common type of comment made about shootings in places with exceedingly restrictive gun laws.
“ My CPR Class didn’t cover That”
They never do.
Boy Scout First Aid.
Bleeding
Breathing
Poison
Treat in that order.
