I believe Ukraine could have held together had the Revolutionaries and Western Instigators not overthrown the Democracy. Eastern and Southern Ukraine were fine getting their candidate every other election cycle. You cannot keep a country together if voters are disenfranchised. Prior to its independence as an independent and sovereign nation, Ukraine was a Soviet Socialist Republic (Ukraine SSR), just as Russia was (Russia SSR) and Belarus was (Belarus SSR). According to your logic, Belarus is not now an independent and sovereign nation; nor, for that matter, is Russia.
