This is the “gang of eight” scam. If they agree to vote together, they can swing legislation. It makes them more powerful because instead of being one of 100, they are one of eight.
“They all sat safely distanced apart.” Well, I saw Romney on several occasions in S Florida during the first months of covid. Maybe 6 times. Never once was he wearing a mask. He also wouldn’t look you in the eye when he walked past. Head down as if you wouldn’t recognize him.
