As interesting a read that Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America might be, I’m not sure why I would need to read that to simply find out why that group would care one way or another about the election of Lincoln. I asked you a question what that group would care about the election of Lincoln. I believe you said they didn’t like oppression in your first reply. I’m just not sure what Lincoln would have done or what they imagined he might have done to them.
I have read Shelby Foote’s 3 volume narrative on the civil war many times. Would you consider that to be the establishment narrative?
