"A true safety prevents the gun from firing even when the trigger is pulled. Not hard to design, but omitting it makes the pistol cheaper to make.) No tears will be shed for Gaston Glock and his legion of imitators in MY gunroom."

I carried a Glock 17 for nine years as a LEO. The most dependable service pistol ever made. PS. I went to a fatal shooting once where a security guard was armed with a Beretta 92, which had all the features that you worship. According to witnesses, he drew his pistol in time but squeezed the pistol so hard that the mag dropped out. That mag disconnect safety feature cost him his life.

How the heck can anybody “squeeze a Beretta 92 so hard the mag dropped out”? The mag release is on bottom left side at the back of the grip, where no part of the strong hand ever touches it. My nightstand piece is a 92. I tried to do it with the weak hand and I can’t. Make up another story.
