The man punched Vijay Wali in the head and threw him on the ground
Jyotika Wali said: "I was immediately attacked by another man, and my purse was taken, and I saw my husband had been assaulted, and I screamed for help. My daughter was inside the house and called 911."
The face of at least one attacker was clearly captured by security cameras at the house, while one of the two drivers was caught on camera at the jewelry store
Among the items stolen was a dehjoor, a hexagonal jewel worn off the ear of a Kashmiri Hindu bride.
"And so it has deep, deep symbolic significance in our culture, and there were generations of jewelry stolen," said Priyanka Wali, who is engaged to be married and had expected to receive some of the jewels in ceremonies.
The family were traumatized by the attack, but both victims still went to work over the weekend. Jyotika Wali is a primary care physician who worked Saturday, while her husband is an emergency room doctor who did a shift on Christmas Eve.
"I'm scared to come back home," Jyotika said, adding that she now jumps in fear at the sounds of firecrackers she thinks might be gunshots.
She added: "This is no way to live. I mean, it looks like there is no law. It's very scary."
Priyanka Wali, also a practicing physician, said she's not sure whether her family will ever be able to shake the fear brought on by Friday night's attack.
"Emotional trauma and physical trauma are one and the same thing," she said. "So yes, we may be able to walk and talk and have all of our limbs and vital organs functioning, but emotionally the damage has been absolutely devastating."

Followed 16 miles? Situational awareness is a
“thing” man. If someone followed me 16 miles, I’d lead them out into the desert and have some fun.
Situational awateness would have helped as well. If somebody seems to be following, drive to the nearest police station.
Buy a piece and take some training classes...
Lots of these types of robberies in the Seattle area, seems like Asians get targeted quite a bit. They may be less likely to carry a weapon than a white guy, and I think they are pretty leery of banks and like their jewelry so that makes them a big target.

They should hire someone to hunt the thieves, torture them and either get the jewelry or money or leave them in a ditch.
Yes, Indians, Chinese are big time into expensive jewelry. And this family of Indians were all doctors. Blacks target Asians, pure and simple.
Hindus have a reputation for keeping a lot of cash at home. That makes them prime targets for home robberies.

Years ago I was followed home after buying a laptop at a store that didn’t even give you a bag for it (and this was in Texas, where bags are legal - TO THIS DAY). So my box was a walking billboard for what I had bought.
BUT...I had my daughter with me and we were having a great time. When we got to my house, I always back-in and if someone is close behind me, I drive by the house and do a U-turn at the cul-de-sac at the end of the street to shake off the person behind me. The problem was that the guy behind me did the same U-turn. At that point I wised up and made sure not to go to my house.
I was very lucky to not have some steel pointed at me. My point being that it’s EASY to not think you’re being tailed, even when you should be thinking about the possibility (as in my above case, after a major purchase).

Yes. They were followed all the way round. They may have been surveilled for some time as well to establish their habits.
I’ve been seemingly followed a few times and that’s one of the things I’ve learned. If you think you are being followed, go straight to the police. It’s unlikely you’ll be fined for that action, but even that is better than the alternative.
I did that in a road rage incident.
It works. Walked right into the police station with the perp in tow.

It’s the way the democrats want it. Living in fear of their melanated orcs terrorizing with no fear of reprisal.
In Rome normally the wealthy (Patricians) kept the poor living in fear. For Much of history it was the same in other countries.
Then the American experiment created fairness and equality for all, rule by law. I guess from 1776 to the 1960s people could almost go anywhere without fear (not counting frontiers etc).
Now the left have us returning to rule by violence, and oddly it’s often our rift raff, our stupid that rule the streets in parts of every big city I know of.
