We’re electing politicians, not candidates for sainthood. We should pick the best leader for our government, from the standpoint of the role of government in our society, economics and foreign/defense policy. That person has to deal with all kinds of nasty and shady characters here and abroad, so picking a would-be saint is a fool’s errand - look at Jimmy Carter, chosen for his “good moral character “ - he turned out to be, AT BEST, a naive boob who let this country get played time and time again.
Besides, NONE of the other candidates on either side is even close to being morally perfect. So you objection has be noted…and found wanting.
I think it’s hilarious that the morality police around here have no problem with a multiple adulterer as their candidate. The guy cannot keep a promise to his wife and you expect him to care about you?
