A new year will bring more pay for millions of Americans, according to a new study from the Economic Policy Institute (EPI).
On New Years Day, 22 states will raise their minimum wage, giving nearly 9.9 million Americans a pay raise. In total, workers will receive $6.95 billion in additional wages from the increases.
In addition, 38 cities and counties will increase their minimum wages on January 1, rising above their state floors and adding to the number of workers who will see any increase in their paychecks.

Up to a million will be losing their jobs because of it. Pizza Hut just fired all of it drivers in CA. Almost all fast food places are switching to machine ordering and eliminating the person who used to take the order.
Many restaurants have a machine you can order from and then pay after you are done.
You can still get your pizza delivered through DoorDash. But I would prefer if I could get it directly from Pizza Hut. There's more accountability that way.

That's happening everywhere. Even here in NC due to labor shortage. I prefer ordering on a kiosk. You can order exactly how you want it. And you don't have to wait in a line.

Well liberals and do gooders cost thousands of people their jobs by trying to foist the costs of doing so on others (business) and are learning once again that there are almost always options that will be far worse for the people you call yourself helping.
Yes I know that Door Dash is an option, but that doesn’t help the newly unemployed workers at almost every pizza company in CA.
