However, I cannot believe that low end kitchen they are in. I am not a kitchen snob, but that looks like something that’s in a basement, somewhere from the 1960s. Doesn’t look like anything that a couple of their means would have.

It says 14:30 (2:30) Sunday, Christmas Eve. That is totally believable. My wife, her son (before he married a vegan) and I used to have Beef Wellington on Christmas Eve because we had the big family gathering on Christmas. We would be in the kitchen around then cooking.
The woman is a waste of time, but let’s not get petty and hunt for stuff that’s not there. She is a target rich environment.
