whatever happened to the M1s we sent there?
I understand that they are on standby. Ground is soft and they’ll bog down they are so heavy. That is why they are having problem with the leopards, etc. They have to run them on roads and the Russians just sit back and monitor the roads and when the dumb Ukrainians run them down the roads they pick them off.
As usual, the fantasy is that the Ukrainians could run offensive operations without complete air cover. They found out the hard way.
They haven’t yet been sent.
The $$ was allocated (”printed”) to refurbish 31 downgraded armor M1s iirc and the work is ongoing.

Probably guarding the Polish border, as far from the front lines as possible.
More captured western equipment $$$$$$ added everyday….for all the world to see.

….the Ukies are reported to not fielding the M1’s, presumably being held back till the weather ( mud) improves. There are also reports the Bidenites are afraid of them ending up in Moscow’s museum….our M1’s do not perform to well in the current conditions, we know it, they know it, everyone is just waiting for the first one to stick its nose out…..I prefer they get one abandoned in the mud.
And some of the 5000 Russian tanks destroyed in Ukraine are being mockingly exposed in Kiev….

If they’ve arrived, they are likely being held in reserve. The current tactical situation terrain and weather may not be optimal for armor. Tanks (including the M1) are best employed as part of a combined-arms team, which doesn’t seem to be a UA capability at present. Rumor has it, some UA tankers jumping from Soviet era systems to the Abrams were having difficulties in transition (to even the Monkey Models). I imagine they haven’t lost any yet, or they would be sitting in Red Square as trophies.
