Maine’s highest court has ruled that Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie will not appear on the 2024 ballot after his campaign failed to gather enough certified signatures from registered voters.
The decision stems from an appeal brought by Christie’s campaign in response to a previous decision by Secretary of State Shenna Bellows that he did not gather the necessary 2,000 certified signatures. Bellows claimed that the Christie campaign turned in just 844 signatures.
“We appreciate that the court upheld the integrity of Maine’s well-established ballot access requirements,” Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows said in a statement. “Every candidate, including presidential candidates, must follow the law to qualify for the ballot. We are glad that the court recognized that Maine law is workable and fair to all.”

Just wait till his donut fund goes broke...
Judges had better hope Christie doesn’t do a diving splash off the top rope of the ring. Would have to peel them off with a spatula.
Voters can write him in. Without any restrictions, you would have a ballot that looked like a phone directory. 2,000 signers is not a high bar.
Maybe now, fat boy will now understand the legal and political horse manure thatTrump has been going through these past 8 years.
Have they found a big enough spotlight?
And? Let the voters decide.
And in other news next month is January.
I worked as an election clerk in Maine on the November 7th election. In our ward a table was set up with petitions for all the Republican candidates running. The table was monitored at all times by a Republican volunteer. These tables were set up all over the state.
If Christie did not get enough signatures that is his own fault; I believe all the other candidates did so, including Doug from North Dakota.
I don’t know a single person supporting Christi.
Ridiculous. If everyone who wants to get on the ballot is allowed to have their name on it regardless of any real ability to demonstrate any public support, you could have thousands of candidates. There have to be criteria in order to pare down the size of the ballot. Should anyone who wants to be on the debate stage be allowed to appear?
If Christie’s campaign team cannot muster 2,000 voters on a petition, he is not a viable candidate. Let’s have a little common sense.
Your post reminded me of the Arizona meteor crater.
Maybe now Christie the Hutt will drop out (pun intended).
Besides that hack Anthony Scaramucci.
He just proposed running in the primary to audition for a cable news commentator job. One of the high-ratings giants like MSNBC will make him a big buck offer.

These state courts should butt out.
Mass usually indicates the potential of good momentum... wasn’t going to happen!
25. Nice picture of Christie Jabba the PUTZ.
They put out donuts for people who signed the petition and Chris ate all of them ...
