Speaking of laundry. I have a shawl I bought about 55 years ago in the Haight. I’ve had it hanging on my bed for many years. Can’t get that old dirt or whatever it is out. Soaked and handwashed 3 times already.
Any tips?
My granddaughter loves vintage stuff and I’m trying to clean it up to give her.

Did you try OxiClean in the soak water? I haven’t found too many things that OxiClean doesn’t get out. When I have a stain I apply it directly on the stain and then put liquid detergent on it and swirl it around. That might be a bit too strong for a fragile shawl, so maybe some in the soap water?
