She’s a delightful creature that I adopted at a local shelter’s Five Dollar Fridays, where they adopt out vaccinated and spayed adult cats for that modest fee.

It is $100 at our local shelter to “adopt” a cat or dog.
I don’t imagine they have many takers.

Good answer, but no. It's to feed the illegals. Asians in particular are partial to eating dogs and cats.
