You must endure him until he dies, resigns or is removed by the Curia under the provisions of Canon Law Article 332.

I believe that Francis was not honest. His intent was not to lead the Church, but to destroy it.

My old priest was right. After all these years, the homos and the commies have infiltrated the church and it is near ruin.

Tonight as I said the Rosary and looked at art of the Sorrowful Mysteries, I could imagine how disappoineted our Lord and BVM are.

I am embarassed to be Catholic. Shutting down the Church during covid was bad. I haven’t heard any apologies for that mistake that Frank the pope did. Now this. How many more will walk away from the church because it refuses to call a sin a sin? Why should I go to confession?

Frank really screwed this one. But that was his goal all along. and I cry. Frank’s most recent chest CT showed that his lungs were clear and that he had no heart.

Let me try to parse the issue.

Bergoglio is doing what the College of Cardinals hired him to do, which is to modernize. The Polish and German popes did their best to turn back the clock to before the Second Vatican Council, cloaking their intent in "hermeneutics" and "reform of the reform," but all it did was cause more Catholics to flee.

A few years back, the bishop of Trenton (NJ) stated that since 1958, 78% of Catholics had left the church. The Vatican immediately silenced him, not because his number was wrong, but because it was accurate. So where did this 78% go?

  1. The largest group became Christmas and Easter Catholics. Some like to call them Catholics in Name Only. They go to church twice a year and don't particularly care what their local pastor, their bishop or the Pope have to say.
  2. The second largest group became atheists and agnostics. There is something about Catholicism that biases these people against all religion.
  3. The third largest group became mainstream Protestants, particularly Lutherans and Episcopalians. These two faiths are very like Catholicism but without the baggage.
  4. The smallest group required a sense of surety and joined various Bible-based evangelical churches.

Bergoglio's goal is to induce Category #1 and #3 to return to Catholicism. Category #2 and #4 are forever lost.

The German Pope publicly stated he didn't care about those who had left and wanted a smaller, purer church. He also told those unhappy with his papacy to find another religion. The Curia told him to shut up because his statements were driving more people away and were bad for business.

Toward that end Bergoglio is trying to reconcile Catholicism with a world that has changed and is unlikely ever to change back. He couldn't do this while the German Pope was still alive, but with Ratzinger safely in his grave, the gloves have come off.

So what about the 22% (100 - 78) that remained in the church?

The Traditionalists have nowhere else to go, so Bergoglio doesn't bother with them. His pronouncements, however offensive, are his way of expanding the base of his church. Will he succeed? Or will his church join Aryan Pantheism and the Mother Goddess on the ash heap of history? These things take centuries to sort themselves out, so only our descendants will know the answer.
