South African Chief Rabbi to Pope Francis: Repent for sins against Israel
Israel National News ^ | December 19, 2023 | Rabbi Warren Goldstein

In a widely reported conversation with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog, the head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, chastised Israel’s war on Hamas saying it is “forbidden to respond to terror with terror".

In comparing Israel’s just war of self-defense to the barbarism of Hamas, Pope Francis repeats the sins of Pope Pius the XII, from the Nazi era, of surreptitiously supporting the forces of evil who seek to annihilate the Jewish people. And betrays his fiduciary duty as the head of the Catholic Church to protect Christians throughout the world from the same murderous hatred directed against the Jews, not realizing that we are in this war together. I’m Warren Goldstein, the Chief Rabbi of South Africa, and here is why I say that. If Israel's war is not just, then there has never been a just war. In a Wall Street Journal opinion piece, David Rivkin and Peter Berkovitz, with decades of experience in statecraft between them, including serving in senior national security positions in multiple US administrations, accuse the Pope of “primitive pacifism” by pointing out that his views, as expressed to President Herzog, and repeated in other public fora, contradict the basic principles of a just war, articulated in the 4th century by one of the founding philosophers of Christianity, Saint Augustine, who held A comprehensive just war theory has been developed and now forms the consensus of the civilized world, as distilled in modern times in the Geneva conventions. On this platform, in a previous speech, I have set out the facts and arguments that demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt that Israel prosecutes this war in terms of all the conditions of a just war, as prescribed by the accepted international laws of armed conflict. Many experts in this field have, likewise, done so.

This idiotic idea of wanting to expand the Church is THE MOST ASININE EXCUSE FOR PERVERSION I HAVE EVER HEARD.

HOW WILL YOU “ESPAND THE CHURCH” BY ADDING 2 PERCENT OF THE POPULATION.....(SCREAMING) IF YOU LOSE 73 PERCENT OF THE CATHOLICS...HOW DO YOU DO THAT?

Perhaps South Africa's Chief Rabbi should redirect his piehole to his own backyard.

Criticizing the Pope carries no risk in South Africa. Criticizing the SA government is very risky. (This does not mean I'm happy with Francis either)

“Obviously neither one was Hamas they were innocent civilians”. What some of those innocent ‘ladies’ have been doing the last two days is wearing suicide packs under their dresses. So, depending on the circumstances, the Israelis might have suspected that they were doing the same. I do not know the circumstances of the shooting. I beg to disagree that they were so obviously ‘innocents’ as you say. How do you know that? These are folks who lust for Jewish blood. The fact is that the Pope had NO knowledge of the circumstances of the shooting, but as he always does, He assumes that he knows what happened and thus put his own judgment on it. That unknowing proclamation by this rogue Pope did more harm than you can imagine. It allowed people all over the earth to jump to pre-conceived notions = that the Israelis are bloodthirsty tyrants who are trying to steal land (which they have occupied themselves for thousands of years, but have had it taken from them). They were removed by the Romans, Greeks, Persians, Turks, etc., who absolutely had no legitimate claim to the land. The author of the article points out that Pope Pius was also complicit during World War II in the destruction of Jews. That is also being debated to this day. But the simple truth is that the Pope has a worldwide megaphone and enormous influence but seems to ‘go with the flow’ of what the world wants. His politics are tearing the Catholic Church apart, and I believe assisting in the destruction of the world faith. That is what the author of the article was trying to say.

“...lobal Catholics and 90% of American Catholics, who have waited a long time for a reformist Pope. These are Progressive Catholics who believe in married priests, women priests and a complete rethinking of sexual ethics...”
____________________________________________

This is false. All the hippie, progressive Catholics are dying off. The young Cathoics want a TRADITIONAL Church. Mr. Pblius, you must be in your 70’s. I suspect it wont be long until all the “hippie” priests die off. Women give birth. This is a greater gift. Sexual ethics? Are you a Jesuit? They seem to be the ones most concerned about sex. And Frank is a Jesuit.
He is a black pope and God will not be happy with him.

“The Traditionalists have nowhere else to go”

Untrue. The Traditionalists can always form their own independent Catholic Church since Rome is no longer interested in Catholicism (except to the extent that they can subvert it).

The Traditionalists can always form their own independent Catholic Church...

Very true. There are splinter groups like the Old Catholic Church that left Rome a very long time ago.

One Catholic splinter group – I once had a bookmark to their website when someone posted it to FR decades ago but lost it – claimed that the Framers were heretics because they were Protestant and Masons. Catholics who read the Federalist Papers were guilty of grave sin. They should be reading the writings of the Doctors of the Church. It was the duty of every Catholic to work to end the Republic and replace it with a Catholic monarchy. The splinter group even had different layers of nobility that would go under the Catholic King. Non-Catholics would be legal residents but never citizens.

Ratzinger once suggested that Catholicism should disappear from the world and become a seed. Maybe God would call it to blossom in a thousand years or so. The Curia told him to shut up. No religion has voluntarily downsized and lived to tell the tale.
