My paternal grandparents were Gloucester Fishermen. Dad was one of seven, and went to work on the fishing boat when he was nine.

Yes. You read that right. NINE.

Then he joined the Navy at 17, and faught at Iwo Jima, Okinawa, and other battles.

Then he reupped for Korea.

I was born somewhere in between.

While in the Navy, Dad was the ship’s photographer and unofficial DJ. He played Classical Music and had all the sailers whistling the Soldiers Chorus from Faust! LOL.

What marvelous family stories; I love them!

This family history is the stuff of "greatness" and what once made America GREAT; every day people doing what needed to be done! :-)
