I think because they have been ordered to remove it but it already has a home in a confederate memorial in the state of Virginia so it is not turning into woke scrap metal. I think they may be moving the artist’s body with the statue but I don’t remember if that portion is happening.
It's probably just a matter of time before they decide that all the Confederates buried at Arlington have to be removed.
