can he stop the new Minnesota flag from going into place also?
That monument is an important symbol of Reconstruction and the re-unification of the country.Well, I'd go with re-unification, anyway.
Democrats don’t want people to remember they are the ones that fought and died to protect slavery.
I think because they have been ordered to remove it but it already has a home in a confederate memorial in the state of Virginia so it is not turning into woke scrap metal. I think they may be moving the artist’s body with the statue but I don’t remember if that portion is happening.
Also the relevance as to why the statue was made will be lost as made for reconciliation of the war and both confederate and union dead were buried in the same cemetery. That will be diminished with moving the statue.
—”they were all americans, and all died.
They should be remembered, as should our history.”
Hear, hear!
“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it”
George Santayana
The people on that memorial are all American. The Cancel Culture Club scumbags aren’t worthy enough to lick the cowsh*t off their feet. Leave this important piece of America alone, AZZHOS!
It’s truly sad our country has gotten to this point. You can take the statues away but you can’t erase history folks.
Bingo!
GREAT. It’s history.
“”Work to remove the memorial had begun Monday before the restraining order was issued, but the memorial remains in place on cemetery grounds.””
.
Whooo boy, that right there is a call to battle for the progs.
Listen for the soft soothing sounds of D-9 Cat bulldozers after midnight.
.
It's probably just a matter of time before they decide that all the Confederates buried at Arlington have to be removed.
Wonder when the disinterment of Confederate graves at Gettysburg will begin???????????
When I was taught about the Civil War in middle school it was “The War Of Northern Aggression”.
It was about states rights (the South) vs. federalism (the North) Discussion of slavery came later.
I tend to believe what I was taught back then was true and I can understand the South’s stance.
Is no one interested in who ordered its removal?
That would be more believable if the Confederacy’s founding documents similarly protected thair states’ rights, lol.
I had a relative who fought with Washington at Yorktown. I had relatives who fought on both sides of the Civil war including a great grandfather who fought for the South at Bull Run (First Manases). The North named battles after geographical names and the South gave them grander names. Arlington was Lees’s property made into a Union Cemetery by an occupying Union General. There are southern soldiers buried there as well. It is a travesty to take down that southern monument and to desecrate our history and heritage.
“Wonder when the disinterment of Confederate graves at Gettysburg will begin???????????”
Disinterment of Confederate graves at Gettysburg began shortly after the battle and hundreds of remains were removed from the battlefield to Hollywood cemetery in Richmond during the 1870’s at the same time many of the union dead were being removed to various National cemeteries.
