Anybody know what model these rifles are?
(And it should go without saying that this action by Biden is assinine.)
I have read other stories calling them M-16’s.
>Anybody know what model these rifles are?
There’s an article on zerohedge that states “Most or all of the rifle shipments appear to be M-16s.”
Take that for what it’s worth.
I worked for the American division of Israel’s, at the time, largest defense company. They made everything. Usually, they took the American design and either improved it or made it suitable for their particular needs. The reason they were often able to improve something is because, very often, the cost of making an improvement for the US military is extreme. You may, for example, have to update the maintenance manuals in hundreds, or thousands of locations. The cost of that alone may far exceed any benefit from an improvement. Whereas the Israelis can implement a change overnight and change all the documentation in a day.
I digress. The idea Israel actually NEEDS these guns is unlikely. What generally happens is they have money left over that must be spent in the United States. That’s the condition to all of our foreign aid. So, they take the, essentially rounding error money at the end of the year and buy something they can resell or use for training or whatever. Trust me. They aren’t desperate for this particular weapon.
M4’s
M4s. Carbine select fire M16s. Israel is the size of New Jersey. Takes time to produce weaponry like the preferred IWI Tqvkr X95.
Israel makes plenty of semi-auto rifles and send them over here. Is there some reason they can’t sell them there?
