Well, he’s right. The DOJ WOULD just laugh at it like they laughed at the contempt charge against Holder. It’s symbol over substance.
You are missing the point. Regardless of what DOJ does with it, Hunter violated the law. Congress must act or any subpoena becomes meaningless. If DOJ fails to act, the double standard will be obvious. Bannon and Navarro should be furious. They are probably going to jail.
It's called following through, not caving because you claim the DOJ won't prosecute anyway. That's the coward's way out. At least try, even if you get shot down, or nothing becomes of it. Show the American people you have a set of balls to take on the inconvenient tasks. They took the easy way out like Pence, who chose not even to try on January 6th. It doesn't matter if you try, and get knocked down. It matters that you at least tried, and that the American people see you tried. This is one of the reasons I am no longer registered as a Republican. I cannot compromise my values, and belong to a party that doesn't care enough to even try.

Spoken like a true Republican, why bother doing anything and lets just go along to get along. Forget about impeachment, the Senate would just sit on it. Forget about Eric Swalwell committing a crime by helping Hunter not show up, after all he’s a democrat. Forget about stopping spending, it’s too hard. Forget about making a budget, we don’t know how.
So the question is why do Republicans even bother to show up for work?
The answer is, It’s the only way for them to make their side money and under the table deals and continue to get rich.
