and this is the reason why Jack Smith requested the Supreme Court to intervene even before the appellate court has a chance to rule on some aspects of this.

The Jan/6 trial is automatically suspended until the immunity question is resolved, and Jack Smith can not hold the March 4 trial date (for maximum damage to Trump’s election) unless the Supreme court rules before the Appellate Court, something pretty unprecedented.
