We had a rescue mixed GSD/Chow.....she did the same thing, with me, ONE time....took me for a flying leap.

Hubby asked....why didn’t you just let go of the leash?

Well, once I dusted myself off.....I said, because....I didn’t want her to run off.

She comes back, but by a circuitous route so that she sneaks up on me from behind.
