INDIANAPOLIS — Two people are in stable condition after a shooting that left a car flipped on the city's northwest side Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 2 p.m. on Dec. 7, IMPD officers were called to the 7300 block of Lafayette Road on a report of a person shot and a flipped vehicle.
When officers arrived, they found two victims with gunshot wounds. Both victims' conditions were said to be stable.
According to a release from IMPD, an adult woman allegedly attempted to sell a gun to a 16-year-old male. The teen then allegedly stole the gun and drove off in their car.
Police said the adult woman then chased after the teen.
IMPD detectives say they believe the two parties exchanged gunfire. Police said two men, who are 17 and 18 years old, were passengers of the vehicle being driven by the 16-year-old. According to IMPD's release, the gunfire exchange resulted in the 17-year-old and 18-year-old being shot, and the 16-year-old crashed the vehicle.
Officers located two guns at the scene of the crash. Both gunshot victims' conditions are still said to be stable, according to IMPD. Police also said "it is possible" more people were involved in the incident.
What a cluster
No names. Not even the “adult” female.
Need not go further.
Surely some new law would have prevented this.
Time to cue Boo Boo and Yogi?
Did they not know that what they were doing was illegal? Should they not have done that?
No doubt the issue occurred when the seller phoned in the 4473 info and there was a “delay” on the buyer’s background check that casued the issue..
No indication the seller was located or arrested.
Did the yoot just cough up the story?
A Mongolian Cluster Event for sure.
LOL...
I use to live a block away from there!!!!
A clusterfuge.
“Sounds like considerable illegal activity.”
Yep. From beginning to end it appears not a one of these people were legally eligible to buy or sell a firearm. I doubt any of them could pass a NICS check. But, I’m sure one more law that only the law-abiding will adhere to will make sure something of this nature will not happen again.
