Tensions between neighbors Venezuela and Guyana have ratcheted up in recent weeks over a long-running territorial dispute.
At issue is a 160,000-square-km (62,000-square-mile) border territory around the Esequibo river, which is mostly jungle, and an offshore area where massive discoveries of oil and gas have been made.

Allow me to explain a little further. Bankrupt regime craves oil reserves...
If the claims postdated oil and gas discoveries then this would be just a grab. Note the reserves are not all that huge, note “oil and gas”, a barrel of gas is not much. Such measurements are usually BOE, barrels of oil equivalent.
Because the claims predated discoveries, they are considerably more legitimate.
Exxon has no history of exaggerating production claims and they “hope” to achieve 1 million barrels/day (of oil and gas) by 2030. This is not game changing quantity, but it is not zero and when Exxon has to leave that property, it will sting.
Probably the most important item in the matter is the involvement of CNOOC. They own a chunk of the expected production. One would imagine they are eventually the arbiter of revenue disputes. It does not look good for Exxon and no way in hell the Green Biden Admin will deploy troops to defend HATED Exxon.

This is yet another blow against socialism. The country is failing, whilst sitting on the largest oil reserves on the planet. The solution? Steal someone else’s oil reserves.

Obama didn’t lift a finger and later refused to even send weapons to Ukraine. His “anti-weapons-to-Ukraine” stance and those like him unwilling to support Ukraine in its selfdefense are today part of this new globalized hippie-anti-war- at-any-cost movement, carefully maintained and orchesrtaed by the communists (China, etc.) and the Neo-soviet Kremlinist puppeteers. THEY started the war hostilities though... and illegally annexed nations... interesting paradox!

All the Venezuela’s political issues are caused by the people/government of Guyana. Same trick play all corrupt countries, people, governments and commies (to include DemonRats) run at times right before implosion in the hope to hold on a little longer. Might be a straight up racketeering attempt go get back door bribes.
Your geography is a bit off. The politics, reasons, security, monetary, historic … concerns. Is Russia under your bed? Can you use this doll to show the doctor where Russia touched you as a child? I am starting to think you think your ex husband/boyfriend was Russian and you cannot separate the personal trauma from a place halfway around the world since you appear to be emotionally unstable over something that doesn’t effect you to the degree in which you respond.
