Apple has been running on fumes since Steve Jobs died.
Desktops are still my primary work places.
[I have fat fingers]
Hey Apple, I have new idea. Take an Iphone, remove the phone and camera, leave the bluetooth, and make something that will DO WHAT THE IPOD USED TO DO: Give me recorded music. Heck, your original one came with a stand and a remote control that allowed me to connect it to my stereo. I really don’t give a shi...er...Dorkbama about any more software that purports to “help” me.
“Apple has been running on fumes since Steve Jobs died.”
Yes, back when Jobs died, Apple’s market cap was $340 billion, and today it is only $3 trillion..
They make oodles of cash. Though that is due to their ridiculous profit margins and pretty much locked-in market share especially on phones - and Europe had to force them to adopt a universal charger otherwise they’d make $35 on a 35 cent wire. Whether they’ve actually innovated anything since Jobs died is a good question. Tinkered around the edges a lot, improved the devices though I doubt they had much to do with the innovation behind those improvements. They are now involved in consumer finance and banking. And hide their profits from tax authorities really well.
I think a lot of the software is still US based, though.
What great product has come out since from Apple?
You have a point. When Jobs was there was always this “what’s next?” energy from Apple he had a knack for coming up with stuff people didn’t know they wanted until they saw it. They have been coasting since he passed. Too bad he made that leftist poofter his successor. Jobs was a lefty but smart enough to not alienate half of the country. You did not work for him though.
Up until last year they still sold the ipod. Thing is, they want you to trash your MP3 collection (formerly your CD collection, formerly your LP collection) and buy a subscription to listen to music you already paid for twice before.
It could be made in the US or Canada. No reason it can’t.
I was just today identifying suppliers for a polymer and a Canadian company actually offers it cheaper than do the Chinese.
“Apple has been running on fumes since Steve Jobs died.”
yeah it has been. I remember when Jobs was in charge, every phone release was revolutionary. Now the yearly update features involve a new kind of port or a new color.
I used to hate everything Apple. Then my work forced me off Android and onto Apple. I fussed and complained for weeks…then realized I had no freeze ups or reboots in a long time. It was then, I grew a fondness for Apple. I also have two Apple TV boxes (from fire sticks) and a 12.9” iPad Pro that I use for sheet music and a iMac 21.5” and MacBook Pro 15”….the beauty with all this Apple stuff, if I spent a total of $350 for everything used. It’s all running the most recent operating systems and I get to update no charge as long as I have these. Yes, some knowledge of OCLP and other tricks help, but they all work much faster than a windows machine and I rarely (if ever) have to reboot.
It’s a good product if you look into working it a bit.
Correction, it was all $350 but $150 additional for the iPad Pro. All bought on eBay or market place
Now it will be called iPho.
“Now it will be called iPho.”
lol!
My experience is that Apple h/w and s/w don’t “always work”.
Not too much Android stuff here, but mostly Linux desktops and a couple of greatly tech lagging M$ laptops [that can also be run from a Linux USB sticks.
