A thought I had. IDF forces drop leaflets, send text messages and make phone calls telling residents they are going to move in on a particular neighborhood - warning civilians to get out.
This of course tells the enemy where IDF forces are going to be located. The Hamas fighters flee the zone along with civilians. IDF moves in, but are then ambushed by Hamas from one or more of the flanks. IDF has no choice but to defend their flanks from these attack, where Hamas is (as we all know) hiding within or among the civilians who have fled that zone. Civilians are killed as a result. Then Hamas claims IDF is being indiscriminate.
It’s an absurd situation but isn’t discussed. I am sure the US military and political leaders understand this and may be partly why we vetoed the UN resolution today. Hamas should surrender. They cannot win this war, and they should not be given propaganda victories either. Some of these talking heads need to explain why it is impossible to protect all civilians even when IDF warns them to flee specific war zones because Hamas will counter-attack from within the “safe spaces”.
Hamas should surrender.Israel will not accept.
Thanks. I was not aware of this. Except for Israel sending text messages to certain neighborhoods. That residents must evacuate, because the IDF is moving in to get Hamas.
But in the movies here, we have been brought up to believe everything always works out OK because well, it's fantasy. The innocents and hostages are always saved from the bad guys.
